Annamalai University |
The Annamalai University was founded in the year 1929 by the
munificence and single-minded devotion of the farsighted and
noble hearted philanthropist, the Honorable Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai
Chettiar of Chettinad, Kt., LL.D., D.Litt. Since then, during
the seventy-eight years, the Annamalai University has grown
into a premier, unitary and residential University. Annamalai
University today is spread over an extensive campus of about
one thousand acres and has the faculties of Arts, Science, Management,
Indian Languages, Engineering and Technology, Education, Fine
Arts, Medicine and Dentistry, and ,in all, they comprise 49
departments of study.
Padma Bushun Dr. Rajah Sir M.A. Muthiah Chettiar, B.A., D.Litt., the founder Pro-Chancellor from 1984 assiduously nurtured the growth and development of the University and devoted his life to realize the aims of the University.
The University has about 30,000 students and acclaimed to be
the biggest in the country. Annamalai is one of the largest
Universities not only in India but in the world. It has Associate
Centers across the country and also at overseas locations in
over 40 countries.
The DDE established in 1979 currently offers 528 different programmers
of study. It is credited with the largest enrolment in India
and is well equipped in all terms. All the courses under Annamalai
University are recognized by UGC, Ministry of HRD, Govt of India
and approved by the DEC New Delhi, Vide F.No. DEC/Recog/AU/TN/2006/2495,
dated 15/02/2007. The DEC approval is necessary for employment
in Government jobs as per Government of India notification no.44,
dated 02/03/1995.
Annamalai University is graded B++ level among the universities by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

First India School of Business and Annamalai
University have partnered through a MOU to impart MBA and BBA
courses at First India School of Business, Gurgaon from academic
year 2009, which are recognized by UGC, Ministry of HRD, Govt
of India and approved by DEC, New Delhi. |
